Toys? Food? Blanket? Leash? Harness?

Yes, yes, yes, all that, but what are some things you need to absolutely think about before bringing your baby in?

Let's dive in:

  • Personal space - You should know that before you probably had some me time and pampering set aside in your everyday routine. Well, forget that, and there won't be any such thing once they're home. Almost to a point where you will feel like it's not even a need. I have to tell you, though, there is definitely a need, just not taking in so much time as it did.

  • Routine - Although you had an existing routine, this one might feel like a whole package and will require you to make a solid plan and stick to it without compromise. You need to be ready to make the switch and absolutely give them the priority, regardless of your wants outside.

  • Sleep - Oh boy, you are going to cut down on so much sleep, you have no guesses. Yes, sleep is important for us, but peeing is important for them. And they will make sure to wake you up every time they want to go. You mustn't get crampy from the same and be prepared to go about with your next day, because that is what will be needed.

  • Breaks - This depends on what a break means to you because to them, you are their everything, and there is no away time from you. If you really need to be alone, then you find them something as interesting as yourself, which is nothing, but we can try for a teeny while.

  • Meal - Be welcoming to your every meal and every snack partner. Though your food is only for you and not them, they will make sure to be right beside you when you cook and eat your food. Something about smelling the food makes them feel like they are safeguarding you from all danger.

After reading through this, you still say "but I love them", then you will be an awesome pawrent. Go on and get that baby home right away.
